We ask everyone here to let us know of
anythng they feel is outside the bounds of reasonable expectation. Consensus rules.
Artists, Photographers, Colleges, etc. We require everyone who wishes to
hire a model to provide accurate and verifiable information about themselves.
Complaints received about any individual from more than one source will most likely result in that individual being blocked using the service. In return, when models do accept a job, we ask them to maintain the same decorum and professionalism that they expect from you.
Please Note: Do NOT ask models for their email addresses or other contact information under any guise. Such as having trouble with the WNYNM Email system or that you’re not
at your regular email address. ~ We go to great lengths here to protect the model’s identity and to verify the contacting person’s address that the models are to respond to.., via WNYNM.., until they know the people
they are to work with, and wish to pass on their contact information to them themselves. If you *are* having a problem, you need to tell *us* so we can either fix it or assist you in how to use
it. ~ Please do not try to run around it yourself. ~ To do so presents a high possibility of you being blocked from accessing the website. ~ We hope you understand our concern.
Models should be on time and completely ready to work when the session starts. That includes undressing and any makeup time needed before getting to the paper or platform to
pose.
It is part and parcel with driving to arrive. Show up at least 5 to 10 minutes before posing begins. No leaving early, no phone calls or other distractions during the session. If you have brought a friend, do not connect with them at any time during the session. They may in fact be asked, and properly so, to wait outside if the artist or photographer (s) are distracted or negatively affected in any way. There is nothing difficult here. We are letting you know what will cause you to be called to work a second time. Reliable, dependable, and hard working models can do themselves and everyone else listed here a lot more good in the end.
Profiles.
If a profile question is answered ‘no’, or in any other particular way, please do not ask if the person really means it. ~ We are presenting people here who have made their decisions and who will pose nude under the conditions they have set forth. If you have work for them in line with those conditions, certainly let them know you do, but rest assured that they do not want to be bothered by constant fishing expeditions.
If anyone puts their personal website into the WNYNM profile, please be aware that you may become known through your own site. If you wish to remain anonymous, please be sure that
you will still remain so through your own site, or do not include its address here.
If you have have additional questions that you believe should be part of the profile, please let us know what they are. If we agree, they’ll be added and everyone told to update.
Photographs.
~ If a photo is to be included in your profile it should be current. No more than a year or two old at most but as recent as necessary to keep up with physical changes. Flattering photo’s are fine but major misrepresentations may be seen as deceptive and likely to work against you.
Keep in mind that this is a nude figure model directory.
Nude photos posted here need to show at least some attempt at fine art. It is also expected that the entire figure be within the picture area. IOW, we will not post ‘cropped’ or ‘zoomed in’ pictures. Torso’s and the like. Any basic full figre pose, front, side or back, with the model facing towards or away from the camera. The idea is to show all of what the artist will have to work with. Not someone’s artistic view of it.
You can supply several photographs if you wish. They will be put into your ‘album’ when that feature goes on line.
IMPORTANT - We need to verify that every picture posted here actually comes from the person who is in it. If we know you, simply send photographs to us via email.
Otherwise it would be best if you deliver them here or to several other locations in WNY. Contact us to make arrangements to do that. You might also tell us where else you can be seen on the web. Other model sites, your own website, etc. Lastly, you can have a notary public verify that the photograph is you. A clothed picture may be used for the notary but it must be a clear likeness to the nude photo(s) that you will include with it to be posted. We can point you to a few notary’s in the area.., but you can find a notary in all banks too.
The final decision on posting remains with WNYNudeModels.com.
Photo’s sent to us with obvious and intended sexual connotation will not be posted and will likely get you banned from the site.
If you do not have a current photo that fits the criteria and would like one for your profile, we’ll be happy to take it at no charge. ~ Simply request an appointment here. As you can see in the search listing, most have gone that way. For some reason nude models don’t seem to have any nude photos of themselves. :-)
Photographing models who are posing for drawings or sculpture is a priviledge granted by the model.
Some figure drawng models to not allow photographs of themselves in the nude. But still, most do. At times, an artist may ask a model if it’s ok to take a picture of the pose to use to finish the work at home or studio. But it is up to the model to allow it or not. One needs to ask the model for each picture taken... Permission will most often depend on who’s asking, the pose itself, and how the model feels at the moment.
Professionalism and Reliablity All agreements must be upheld.
All contracts, emails, and other hard copy of agreement details between individuals should be kept until final payment is accepted, in case any arbitration is required. Cancellations and the possibility of them occuring should be considered. For other items that develop but are not covered or expected, people need to be fair and reasonable. Models should be on time for assigments. If late, they should expect to make up the time at the end or lose the equivalent amount of pay. The choice being made by the person who hired them. If models bring a friend with them, they should not talk to or pay them heed in any way during the modeling session. Models should bring a robe or other temporary cover-up for breaks and trips down the hall.., along with something to sit on while posing. They may be one in the same.
All the artists we know are aleady very easy going with the models with respect to their comfort as they work. But for the record, the rule of thumb is to allow models to stretch if
they need to, and to allow short breaks if the model asks for them, in any pose lasting longer than 20 minutes. No pose should continue if it is causing undue discomfort.
Model safety, security and respect. Nude models are simply working people filling a need. Being nude is not a sign of moral decay. Nudity in sculpture, oil, and
countless other media have been the standard in classical art and beauty throughout recorded history. Nude models are the means by which it happens. If anything, they should be ‘revered’ for supplying
the subject material for it to continue. Certainly they deserve our gratitude and respect for the difficult job they do. This our take on it, and offered in the hope that others see it in a similar
way.., and act accordingly.
Model safety is, in the end, fully in the hands of the models themselves. Many areas they should consider are presented very well at
www.modelsafety.co.uk and we strongly advise all models to examine this site thoroughly. Know the people you work with. Bring friends with you until you are comfortable with any new person or place. Always let someone know where you are going and for how long you expect to be there.
Again, please let us know of any dissatisfaction or difficulty you encounter from anyone
through this list. Everything here applies in general to both the models and those who hire them.
Contacting the models with offers of work.
You must first be registered to contact, or to be contacted.
* * * Application Basics * * * This is important stuff if you wish to remain registered.
We have a very short fuse with people who do not comply *fully* with the guidelines. It is very easy to comply fully and we’re asking nicely that you do so. :-)
The primary item is to never make an offer that is outside the model’s profile wants, wishes, and, more importantly, their rejections.
That means if the profile says just Figure Drawing, there are to be no offers of photographic work. Zero. Another major item is compensation... If the model requests $$ for their time in their profile, do not waste their time making TFP offers. The models are aware of all the options and alternatives. They are all presented in the drop down boxes to choose from. They’ve made their choices.
Be complete and concise with all contacts made.
If you are wanting to hire a model, there is no need to send a one liner question that is already answered in the profile. You need to tell the models what *they* need to know.. State your offer fully... Including conditions, expectations and compensation to be paid. A link to your profile is attached to your email as it’s sent, for the model to peruse in making a decision.
This is all necessary for the following reasons..:
The models safety. The models privacy. The models peace of mind and being happy to be here..
This is a free site for all who use it, but someone has to pay the ISP.., and that’s me! The more it is used, the more it costs. For the reasons I put the site online I am
willing to pay those costs... But I do not like paying for superflous and non productive emailings.
So please make use of the site to the extent it is offered... To not do that is to make the site go away. For you at least. Thanks for understanding...
* * * Operational Basics
* * * Run a search and find your model. Clicking the ‘Email’ link in the model’s search profile will cause a form window to appear for writing to the model. You will need to enter your username and password in the fields provided to verify your registration. At the bottom of the email text window is a SEND button. Complete your text you wish to send and push the button. Your text then goes to a full sized proof reading screen where you’re given another chance to check it. You can either send it back for editing or send it forward to the recipient.
Please keep the text you send, clear and to the point.
If we are advised by any of the models that people are writing in a non-professional or off color manner, that sender will be locked out of the system entirely. Models are also able to block specific people from emailing them as they see the need.
A second link is added to the email you send a model that allows the model to respond to you, and still remain anonymous. The model’s personal contact info is kept private
until the models themselves wish to divulge it to others..
A word of caution...
And this is where those who thought they didn’t need to read all this will pay... :-) It is a good idea to highlight and ‘copy’ the text before sending it from the ‘composition’ form. When you have taken an extended amount of time to compose a text, it will go... But if you wish it to return to be edited, it may not be there when you go back. If you did a copy, you will then just need to do a paste into the box to restore it. Then the satisfaction of outsmarting the computer will give you a glow all day long. On the other hand, if it outsmarts you, you will be dismal and depressed for the same amount of time. :-)
That’s about it for now...
